The cost is psychiatric time and intake size. Amend runs two houses at six guests each, which means the clinical team is spread across twelve people rather than fifty, and a psychiatrist is involved through the admission rather than dropping in to sign a medication list. The second driver is time. Mental health work does not resolve on a 28-day clock the way a detox does.
