The short version

A month of luxury rehab in Malibu runs roughly $90,000 to $130,000 at the six-client tier, and only two programs on the coast will tell you their number: Amend Malibu, at $90,000 for a 30-day stay, and Rise in Malibu, at $90,000 for 30-plus days. Reported figures for the rest run from about $70,000 to $165,000 a month, and several programs decline to state a price at all.

Ask five Malibu admissions teams what a month costs and you will get one number, two ranges, and two versions of “it depends.”

That experience is so universal that we built this page around it. Below is every price we could verify for Malibu’s luxury residential programs, sorted honestly: rates the programs publish themselves, figures reported by credible third parties with dates attached, and the programs that keep the number private. Where a figure is an estimate, it says so.

Behind the number

Why a month here costs what it costs.

The price is mostly staffing arithmetic. A six-client house carries a full clinical team (psychiatrist, licensed therapists, medical and support staff, a chef) for a handful of people, and the therapy is delivered one-on-one rather than in groups of thirty. Add a private Malibu property and the arithmetic lands where the table shows. The honest comparison for the money is between intake sizes, and our ranking of Malibu’s most private programs lays that comparison out.

Insurance carries real weight at this tier. Most of these programs work with PPO plans that include out-of-network benefits, and verification happens before any commitment. Our guide to which luxury rehabs take insurance covers how the billing actually works, center by center.

Common questions

The money questions, answered.

How much does luxury rehab in Malibu cost?
For the six-client tier, a 30-day stay runs roughly $90,000 to $130,000. Only two programs publish a number: Amend Malibu ($90,000 for 30 days) and Rise in Malibu ($90,000 for a 30+ day stay). Facility-supplied and reported figures for the rest of the coast run from about $70,000 to $165,000 a month depending on program and room, and several programs decline to state a price at all.
Which Malibu rehabs publish their prices?
As of July 2026, two: Amend Malibu states $90,000 for a 30-day stay, and Rise in Malibu publishes a $90,000 cash rate for 30+ days on its own site. Seasons in Malibu supplies a range ($69,500–$129,000) through its Psychology Today listing. Everyone else shares rates only on inquiry, and Passages Malibu's own cost page says it can't disclose specific costs.
Why won't most Malibu rehabs tell you the price?
Partly because stays genuinely vary (length, room, level of medical care), and partly because admissions teams prefer to discuss price after they've made the case for the program. Small-intake programs also adjust availability and pricing seasonally. None of that stops a program from publishing a starting rate; the ones that do are making a deliberate choice about transparency.
Does insurance reduce the cost of Malibu rehab?
It can, meaningfully. Most programs at this tier work with PPO plans that carry out-of-network benefits, which often cover a substantial share of a residential stay. Cliffside Malibu, under Discovery Behavioral Health, is in-network with many commercial insurers, which changes its math entirely. Verification of benefits before admission is standard everywhere; get the expected coverage in writing.
What does the $90,000 a month actually pay for?
Staffing density, mostly. A six-client house running near 1:1 staff ratios carries a full clinical team (psychiatrist, therapists, medical and support staff) for a handful of people, plus the private property itself. The same month at a thirty-bed facility costs less because the clinical attention is divided thirty ways rather than six.
