The Pointe Malibu runs a five-to-one staff-to-client ratio and schedules five to eight individual therapy sessions a week; its residences sit on the sand, one person to a residence, each with an ocean-view balcony. By the end of the first week, the therapist across the room knows the whole story.

Rise in Malibu pairs every client with a doctorate-level primary therapist and a masters-level case manager, keeps nursing on site around the clock, and cooks from its own kitchen. The days move between individual sessions, the yoga studio, the pools, and a private en-suite room; guests marking sobriety milestones come back to thank staff by first name.

A small census makes that texture possible: the chef learns what you eat, the clinical team meets about a handful of people rather than a roster, and the person who greeted you on day one is the person who says goodbye. That is the experience the ratings at the top of this page are measuring.
